We had a great day out with the familyt at Biggin hill on Sunday and fantastic weather to boot!

This was my first outing at an airshow with decent camera kit, boy that 400 can get heavy!

All shot with Canon EOS 1DMkiiN and EF 400 f/2.8
ISO 200 and RAW, mostly in Tv mode varying the shutter speed to the aircraft.

#1: mustang and Spitfire flownby the two top RedBull air race guys, they are amazing pilots!

Nice shots. The Mustang and Spitfire shot is definitely a keeper and I think the prop blur is acceptable.

I'm fully aware of that thread, and did some research before hand.:)

with waving several kilos of 400 f/2.8 around when i had to lift it with monopod!, I had to try and get a balance between stopping the prop and bad panning!

for me this was an acceptable compromise and I like the composition of that shot.
(I ditched loads with similar blur!)

nice shot of the apache! with the dark cloud behind, it's a good action shot. i didn't get to shoot it much during the sim as there was just too many heads in front of me!

Kudos to you for waving that 400/2.8 around, you must go to the gym. And nice shots to boot.
