Spider joints

The Daddy long legs aren't a real photogenic spider, at least to me, until I noticed the swivel joints of the legs. They look like something a mechanical engineer put together with his Lego collection of parts. My wife didn't think much of this 'pet' so she cleaned house. Now I'll have to wait until the next one shows up. I don't do many spiders. Are they all like this in construction ?
