I'd spotted this fella flitting about on my last walk through that area so this morning I returned with the 20D to see if I could capture him.

Not up to the standards of the ninja birders out there so I call myself a ninja birder in training ;)

20D, 100-400L, minimal cropping.

WOW!!!! birds are so lovelly specially excellent models when it comes to wild life photography. Did you tried by cropping it to get it closer look

That is a very nice and sharp picture. I wish I could get sharp pictures of birds one of these days.

My favourite bird to watch flitting about, especially in the snow covered trees and ground. Beautiful shot, I am so jealous.

I have recently received for xmas an EOS300D, hopefully I can aspire to such beautiful pictures. What size of lens did you use to take this photo?

Thanks everyone for your kind comments.

I think the best thing was I really enjoyed the shot too, I can definitly see me doing more birding in the future! I have recently moved to an erea that is blessed with miles of hedgerows that you can walk along :)

If you start out like this I'm gonna be playing catch-up in about 2 weeks.

I've seen your work, that is something I doubt :) :)
