I'd like to learn how to do simple vingetting. I'm not sure I love the look, but I love to learn pp techniques.
How would I go about it on this picture? I'm using PSP x2 (love it!). Thanks for any help. :)

First, what do you mean by Vignette? A white vignette like an old fashioned photograph, or a dark one like a very cheap camera might give?
For a dark one, a very easy way is this:
1- Create a duplicate layer.
2- On the top (duplicate) layer use the oval selection tool. I usually use 250 pixels for the feather, but you can experiment depending on the size of the image.
3- Select the area that you want to remain un-vignetted.
4- Once the selection is made then Cut (Window = CTRL+X) the selection out of the top layer.
5. Change the blend mode of the top layer to Multiply. Adjust the opacity to taste.

To get a white vingette:
1- Use the oval selection tool. I usually use 250 pixels for the feather, but you can experiment depending on the size of the image. (No need to duplicate the layer)
2- Select the area that you want to remain un-vignetted.
3- Invert the selection.
4- Once the selection is inverted then Cut (Window = CTRL+X) the selection out.

I use "Distort > Lens Correction" in CS3.
Create a new layer with a white background and set to "Multiply"
Open "Distort > Lens Correction"
Play with "Vignette > Amount" and "Vignette > Midpoint" until you get the result you want.
