View Full Version : S1 IS: Why no ISO info in EXIF?

On my wife's new S1 IS, there is no ISO information listed in the metadata? Anyone know why? The ISO info is missing when images are reviewed on camera, in PSCS, and in Pixort. Can this be changed? It makes it hard to compare files and look at acceptable noise on the computer when there is no ISO setting info.

thanks,
daniel

...No answers here? Does the S1 IS just not record ISO sensitivity as part of the exif?

Although I don't have either of those programs, I can view the ISO setting when I check the properties of an S1 IS image in Canon's ZoomBrowser EX program.

Hmm? Well, I don't use ZoomBrowser anymore, but in Canons File Viewer Utility I can see the ISO info...but I cannot in PSCS, which is where I really want it. I wonder why it doesn't show up there?

FYI: I've been using ACDSee v.5.0 and it DOES show the ISO data for my Canon S1 IS photos. I like this photo browser because I can use the wheel mouse to scan quickly through a folder which doesn't work on a few other other photo browsers I've tried.

Hmm? I've never used or even heard of ACDSee, but I might check it out. I shoot semi-professionally with my 10D and I used PSCS exclusively with Pixort as a first step in my work-flow. It is a little frustrating that the S1 now requires me to use something completely different. It just doesn't make sense that the ISO info won't show up in PS or Pixort, but does in all of these other programs ...strange really. Thank you!

You can use Opanda IExif viewer.

It will shows detailed Exif data in images.

You should find the ISO tag in MakeNote.
