Going to be shooting NUMEROUS product shots of models wearing outfits for clothing website.
Building up my studio kit right now...in regards to softbox what would be ideal?-I will be mounting them to 2 strobes....should I go one umbrella, one softbox? 2 softboxes? if so which softboxes, one of the long skinny ones (striplights), X large one (40x70 etc...)??
What would be ideal for my full length model shots?
Thanks

This isn't really that simple of a question. I expect you need some samples of what your client wants to go by. Once you have a feel for that, you will have a better feel for whether you need direct lights, softboxes or umbrellas, or some other sort of diffusion.
A good bet is to have plenty of options in your studio. Frankly, good umbrellas are cheap. You should have several on hand. Softboxes and speed rings can add up but you need different sizes and shapes, depending. I'd want a minimum of a 4 umbrellas, preferable ones which are convertible from reflector to shoot-thru. I'd also want 2 large (4x6 softboxes) a medium, a small and at least one strip.
You might get a situation where your client is looking to you. If so, you might experiment a little and then show them 3-4 different setups and offer them a choice.
Sorry for not giving you more insight on this. Good luck talking with your client.

I am the client...it is my business
I am just being the "photographer" because I enjoy it, can control what I want to see (hopefully I can get there, haha) and it will save me money in the long run-considering I need to shoot about 20 items a week as they come in.
I have two bees now, some profoto acute pack (2 lights) on order along with a large softbox, flat large reflector panel....now just debating wether to add a strip light box and/or octodome???
Thanks for the reply charles-most appreciated!
