I've upgraded my PC from Windows Me to Windows XP HE. when I pluugede my camera ( IXUS), XP recognises the Camera ( New Hardware installed) but gives me an error : Your harware is not compatible with XP ...( or something similar).
Is there any patch that i can dowlaod to resolve this issue or do need to buy an other camera just because of XP ...?
Thanks

Look for patches and updates on Canon's site. You may find that there is some hardware (IE: mouse, keyboards) in which you'll need to go to their support pages to get XP updates.

Hi gsteve,
I have an ixus and use windows XP with it. When I first plugged my camera I got the same sort of error messages.
Firstly it was saying it recognised my new hardware and was installing the appropriate drivers etc but after it finished installing stuff it said it couldn't recognise the hardware... Zoombrowser does not work on my PC. It just keeps freezing up.
I'm not sure if this is a solution, but it worked for me...I uninstalled zoombrowser...restarted my PC then tried again. It now recognises my ixus as new hardware everytime i plug it in (so something is not completely right still) and then XP automatically runs it's own wizard to help download photos. I use ACDSee to view them.
Hope this helps,
