Hi Everyone....

I am new to this forum. Just got a Digital Rebel for Xmas. I thought I loved it. Anyway, went today and bought a battery pack for the camera. I took about 10 ten pics, and it started going ape - - - t. I checked the little battery indicator on the camera, and it said fully charged. However, when I took the batteries out and put them in the charger, it said less than half charge. Does this sound right to you folks?

I have been a 35mm guy for sometime, so, some of this digital stuff is new to me. However, If the indicator say's it has a full charge, I would assume it is. ??????

If anyone needs more info, let me know. Thanks.

Looks like a great forum...

Thanks again. BigStubby

For starters, why don't you tell us the specifics of that new battery? The easy way might be to copy the exact words and numbers on the battery label. What brand?

For example, it might be a wrong type. It might be an old one, or a used one.

Still, there could be something wrong inside the camera or inside the charger.

How do you define ape ****? What is a battery pack by the way? Do you mean another battery - the kind that fits inside the dRebel?

I was kinda wondering about this ape**** thing myself. No matter how low my batteries have ever gotten, there were never any primate antics of any sort. Is this maybe restricted to Drebels?

It may be a bad battery pack. It may be you have not fully charged them for 12+ hours (first time only). You may just have a defective camera.

Hard to know what you mean, as others have said, by ape#$%#@t. Expand on the vocab a little for those of us hard of 'hearing'. :)

Is that true. The manual didn't mention anything about 12+ hours.

Thanks

Where do you get 12+ hours from?

The book says 90 minutes plus 60 minutes.
