C&C flower

Actually, I think the image is too small for me to be critical. The flower seems to be a little soft. I like how the background completely isolates the subject.

I think you could improve the shot with a stronger modeling effect from your light source (or PP).

That last bit about stronger modeling - very good. I finally figured out what's wrong with the blossom. It needs to be at more of an angle, rather than head on, because it would then become more 3-dimensional.

Bob, you and I agree on almost everything--but you say it better.

I would have used more DOF until i got the little twig sharp... but i like the colors and the contrast of happy and gloom.

well, actually if you just do auto levels in the original you get some thing like flo did..

You know I am the furthest thing from a techie.I never say anything more....:oops: Just I like black BG's for a flower like a daisy.:o

I prefer black backgrounds for flowers. I like most solid-color backgrounds for flowers. I also adore vignette fades where the flower/s fade into a blend with the background. I like flower shots that are fully sat'd as well. Sometimes I even like'em borderline over sat'd.
