Press the Print Screen button (for the entire screen) or Alt-Print Screen (for just the active window), then paste it into Photoshop. Save and post like any other picture.

I don't know the anwer to your question, but I would think it would be to your benefit to use a USB card reader, rather than connect the entire camera to the PC.
$10-$20 (was a great investment for me.)

OK. Lets out an old version of PhotoShop. Can you transfer from the camera normally with ZB or other transfer programs, just not in PS?

XP or Win2K?
I don't think Twain works with USB? It's a throwback from SCSI...

Not sure about photoshop but for Paint Shop Pro you can use thw WIA drivers, not the TWAIN and the camera appears in the import section of the menu not the same place as scanners. Maybe PS is the same?

Good call CDS and Mark. XP (and Me, but we won't go there) uses WIA, not TWAIN drivers. PS CS may be looking for TWAIN regardless. You'd have to force the TWAIN to load under XP, and I wouldn't expect it to be easy.

Save yourself the heart ache and wasted time. Go buy a card reader, it is faster and much less hassel. I think plugged my camera into my computer twice, and both times were to try the remote capture. However with the card reader, I can download about 1.5G worth of pictures in about 8 minutes, vise 8 minutes per picture via the cable. Remember the cable even though it is USB is still a "Serial" connection, thus is not the most efficent way to do businees, just better then a straight serial connection on the back of your computer.

if you read half this thread you could see that i can already download pictures. thats not a problem. to set up the parameters on the d30 it must be done from a computer through the twain interface. its not built into the menus like on the newer cameras.

If the D30 can only adjust parameters via a Twain Driver,. you may need to get your hands on a PC with Win98 installed,.. Anyway.. I'm sure the solution involves Zoombrowser.
Further as this has moved from a Camera issue to a PC and Operating system issue.. I going to move this to General Chat where most computer discussions take place.
Maybe you'll have more luck there. ;)

I was under the impression that you can only adjust the camera parameters through the Canon software that came with the camera. Even if you are able to get twain drivers installed they will only be used to aquire images in photoshop.
Is there any reason why you can't use the Canon software?

If PhotoShop wants the TWAIN drivers, and only the TWAIN drivers, to get at the camera's parameters and you're using XP, you won't be able to load the TWAIN drivers, since XP uses WIA. TWAIN and WIA are two different ways of doing the same thing So, PhotoShop won't let you adjust camera parameters. You'll need to use ZB, which will use either TWAIN or WIA drivers depending on the OS, to set the camera parameters. See also Microsoft Knowledge Base article 300462 (http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;300462) for possible workarounds.
