To me, the blurring takes away from this image.

I think this is a good subject for the lensbaby. I have been messing with mine a bit more recently. One thing I think I would try with this shot is getting more of the surrounding in with it so that the blurring draws you into the subject rather than blurring a lot of the subject itself.
Check out my latest lensbaby shots:

I tries to get the whole subject in focus, or at least the point of interest so that the frame draws you where I want you to go.

Thanks guys.
Chris, I also have this image with a normal lens.
Kubik, I really liked your LB images of the boat. I would have gotten more of the surrounding in, but directly to the left is a new machine shed (that takes away from the old barn somewhat) and to the right is a new black top road.
Thanks for looking.

Ok. That was helpful...any constructive suggestions?

To my amazement, I'm almost certain I've got photo's of those exact same barns...I drive by them every day on my way home from work, and compared the broken window to my photo's...same barn, I'd bet money on it :) Lovell Road, correct?

I've got a closeup of that exact window, and several other shots of the other side of the barn behind it, as well as about a hundred shots of other area farms. My passion is photographing barns. Keep up the good work!

I was trying to be subtle.
Here's constructive: dump the lens baby. I personally see no use for them. They're just this year's fad in my opinion. I put them in the same category as taking pictures of puddle reflections and selective color.

Thanks Joe. LB images aren't for everyone, and certainly not every image is suited for LB. The majority of my shots are with a normal lens; however, I won't dump the LB as it is another tool in the bag for some creative expression. Thanks for looking.

I kinda agree with joedlh on the lens baby, but I'm biased. As a matter of personal opinion, I can't understand why a person would pay money for a tool and deliberately ruin a fabulous photo. This genre of art reminds me of the old days when film was king and a print that turned out like this was a waste of $0.32.
I would have liked the exposure. The comp is excellent. The subject is captivating. But the fuzzies have ruined a possible wall-hanger.

Watch the purple fringing with the sharp change in contrast between the edge of the barn roof/walls and the overexposed sky. Is the LB notorious for chromatic aberration? If so, you have to minimize it when you shoot the image because, with the extreme blur, yo probably won;t be able to correct it in PP.

Sweet spot is well-focused on that old broken window. And wow, the red color really pops. I find the Lensbaby as a tool in my bag. I love it for some things, but use other lenses for other things.
