This shot was taken across the kitchen table a few minutes after taking my new EF 50mm 1.4 lens out of its box and attaching it to my 300D. Available light (tungsten).

Exp 1/60 at f1.4
ISO 400

Colour cast corrected and cropped in photoshop and a bit of sharpening.

Very happy with the results I am getting with this lens but looking forward to the sping when there's a bit more natural light about. It's mostly dull in the day and dark by 4pm here in the North of England at the moment!

think you've capured the moment quite well.

it looks a bit too contrasty for my taste but everything else looks good

A good spontaneous shot.

I am interested to see that the focusing here is VERY selective - the sharpest feature is the baby's hand - but then it is dead centre.
