EOS Utility with multiple cameras

I have the EOS utility installed but when I attach a camera other than my 40D it doesn't seem to recognize it (this has happened with a 30D, 5D, 1DII and a 1DIII). I can't download (I use a reader anyway) but also can't access the camera settings or the shooting options.

Any help is appreciated.

I have a 40D and 5D EOS Utility recognises both these cameras and configures itself accordingly eg. 40D allows for Liveview where it doesn't with 5D.

EOS simply recognises the camera when it is plugged in, if your doesn't I'd suggest re-install and try again.

I think the CD that comes with the camera contains drivers. Install them.
