Go easy guys this was my first attempt at motorsport photography for 3 years, also my first week with the 40D after a few years with Nikon kit.....

Last shots a nice one the others are a little dark for me , but a got start back into the saddle

Thanks for the comments Gary....
Not sure if I could have got them lighter without losing highlights even more, maybe I need to do more PP, maybe shoot in RAW to give more room to mess with the files?

Nice shots, Looks to me No1&No3 were at or near Hall bends, No 2 & 4 at the Mountain, If so, it is difficult to get the exposure spot on at Hall bends, as the sun is never in the right place, No 4 is my fave, I think it`s the top of thre mountain.

correct on all counts benboapart from 2 which is shot in the opposite direction to 3 pretty much.... I did find it difficult in bright sunshine nailing the exposure under the trees in the section after the mountain. The bikes were going from shadow to sun half a dozen times in 50 metres.
I'll be going back and may try a circular polariser to kill the reflections and use less exposure compensation to try and lighten the subject a little. I much preferred shooting at this point than on the Mountain....
