Hey everybody. Im new to the forum.. anyway

The g/f bought me an a85 for xmas. Seems to be a great camera...
but im having problems
When i try to connect the camera to my computer, i recieve camerawindowcomp has performed an illegal operation, every single time i go to browse and download images.

Im baffled, ive updated drivers for my video card and i dont know what else to do. This computer isnt worth putting XP on, and i dont have the money for a new system.
What is my problem?

Thanks for helping a photography and digi cam noob

Try uninstalling Canon Camera Window and ZoomBrowser EX (in the Control Panel / Add or Remove Programs). Next, reinstall ZoomBrowser EX from the Canon CD.

Also, it may just be that your 98 system simply doesn't have the capability of displaying the camera window, video-wise. If the reinstall doesn't take care of the problem, try setting the ZB preferences to "automatically download images" - this should start the d/l when you connect instead of trying to show all the thumbnails of the pics on your card.
