Max Card size in an IXUS 500

My friend just got one of these, and cant find this bit in the manual.
I know it can only take Type I but anyone know what the max useable card size is?

Probably 2 Gb; try formatting one of your cards as FAT32 in your computer and if it'll work in the camera that way you can go beyond 2. If it'll only accept FAT16 formatted cards, the upper limit for a volume is 2 GB. But 2 GB will give you on the order of 800 shots at best quality, which should be ample for almost any situation; 1-2 GB is also the best price point right now.

Well I actually got a 10D, as I said it's a friends camera, but he'll be happy to know that.
