Visiting NY City

Hi folks

I am going to be visiting NY City on June 21, 22 and looking for some pointers or watchouts while in the city with photo gear. I would love to get some skyline shots in the evening but dont know of the great vantage point to shoot from.

Can anybody share some experience for fellow photographer visiting from the maritimes of Canada.

any help would be appreciated

Either by the Brooklyn bridge or from across the Hudson River, in Jersey.

Popular places to go:

-Central Park
-Times Square
-Statue of Liberty
-Coney Island
-Empire State Building
-Brooklyn Bridge

If you are looking for some new york street shots I would suggest going to the Village (East and West) and the Lower East Side.

When is this meet I will be in NYC arriving on the 26th and leaving on the 3rd of July. I use to live in Brooklyn but I have not been home since 9-11 so it has been a while. I will be attending the Mets / Yankees game but will set aside some time for some picture spots.

If you folks dont mind i would love to join. I saw that link in the forum and posted there hoping for an invite. I will keep looking for the details. I am staing at a hotel by the Newark Airport and will be coming in by train once i figure out the route i should take.

hey paul .. if you're in newark .. you can take the " path train " to WTC stop and head north to washington square park .. thats where we'll meet up ... i think lol

I would also love to take some shots sat evening of the skyline. Can anybody share there favorite spots and how to get there please. I will be traveling on foot or the transits. To get the best shots from different angles what timelines would you reccomend.
