I want a backpack thats big enough to also use for school to carry (of course) my camera, a laptop, folders, notebooks, and a textbook or two. I don't know if these exist. I'm starting college soon, and I'll be commuting. So I want a backpack that could be big enough to hold this stuff so I could bring my camera with me without carrying an extra bag. I was hoping someone could help me find one. Thanks.

What kind of Camera? IXUS 70 or 1DsMkIII with a 800L  makes a big difference

I have an XTI with a Tamron 28-75mm lens, so I don't have much stuff I need to hold at the moment. I do plan on getting a speedlite soon, though.

Take a look at Crumpler bags then.

I use an eddie bauer "trail daypack". It's not a camera backpack, but it holds my 30D, 17-70, and my 70-200 f/4. I do have a lens pouch for the 70-200. I'm leaving for Washington DC tonight, and that's how I travel. The bag will hold my lunch, souvineers, an extra shirt, and my camera. So I suggest you just look at a regular backpack.

You don't think I need any extra protection?

I'm just careful not to bang the backpack around. I've never had any trouble. It's nice, if a shot comes up, I just grab the camera out of the backpack and shoot away! I've wrapped the camera in a sweatshirt for extra protection.
