i know the 10d has 3 fps max 9 images continuous drive and the 300d has 2.5 fps max 4 images..

does the hack let the 300d have same amount on the continuous drive as the 10d?

how important is the amount of image on a continuous drive?

No. There are some hardware limitations in the 300D, this is one of them. The 300D isn't a 10D in a silver case... it does however seem to share a common firmware base.

The fps and image buffer is all hardware-limited, and the hack does not speed up the 300D. The features it does provide are nice, however.

so how important is the amount of space on the continuous drive? I'd like to take some good action sequence shots so woudl there be a big difference between the 300d an 10d?

The more important difference is the AI servo, the 300D really doesnt have one outside of "sports mode" which in its self is useless.

2-1/2 fps for 4 frames is about 1-1/2 sec., tops. 3 fps/9 frames is 2-2/3 seconds, or almost twice as long continuous. if you're shooting shorter bursts, the 10d will also be able to recover quicker for another burst, since you won't be filling it up with a burst. so the questions are:

How long a sequence do you expect to need?
How frequently will you need these sequences? Will there be time for the buffer to clear between them?
Will a frame every .5 sec (DR) be enough, or will a frame every 0.33 sec. come closer to what you need?

i dont need any long sequences .. i was thinking of capturing a sequence of a volleyball player spiking or a motorcycle rider coming around a corner

man im really stuck between the 300d, 10d, and d60... ah...

Is there a tutorial on the hack for the 300D? Not looking for install instructions, but how to use the expanded features.

There is a manual that will show the change in functions. The buttons that are on the Rebel now will not be labeled accordingly after the firmware upload.
