Studio Lights question...total newbe!

Hi All,

im borrowing some pretty basic Interfit lights. Iv got them set up fine and everything works brilliantly!

One quick question.

The camera is set to 1/250 and F9 and everything works fine, but if I change the shutter speed to say somthing like 1/600th then the flash is out of sync, I get the shot but the bottom half if black.

Is there a way of controling the sync of the flash to camera so that I can shot at a higher shutter speed?

Hi Matt,

The short answer is: No! :)

With studio strobes you are still bound by the camera's max flash sync speed, and in some cases even a little slower. This is not a problem since the flash duration is very short, and it's the flash that exposes the subject (unless you shoot outside in bright light, but that is another story).

thats great!, now that i know what limitations there are I wont waste my time trying to get it to work

Its all working fine anyway, but now I know :)
