Hi!
I had a friend who is new to website design create my website. Although it looks great and I am very happy with it, with her limited experience she does not know how to make it so my site comes up on Google (neither do I and I am not knowledge in website development).
Does anyone know of a company that offers the service of taking your current website and adding whatever is needed to come up on search engines (with a high ranking).
Here is my website for your reference www.relliottphotography.com, yes it is done all in flash - because of this is it a lost cause regarding search engine optimization? Do I need a new site designed in HTML?
Thanks!

Rachelle,
You need to read up on SEO and make adjustments to your site--- maybe add a blog and another non flash site etc. There is a lot to it --- I am not sure I would hire a company to do it for you--unless you have the extra cash to simply try it.

Thanks for your help Scott - the only problem is I know NOTHING about website development, I have no idea how I would even go about adding another non-flash site. I do have a blog but its not "on" my website it's on blogspot. I dont have extra cash, but i also dont have the knowledge to do it myself - thats why I am stuck.

I have a fast cable connection & your site takes a long time to load, even with that. Which is one reason that I hate flash. But your stuck with it, so I suggest that most of your traffic will come from you driving it to your site by networking & passing out business cards with your URL on them. I do that & don't worry about Google rankings.
For the future, if you must have a high rank, then HTML is the way I would go.
Some hopefully entertaining reading: http://www.webpagesthatsuck.com/ And there are a couple links in there about improving your results with Flash.

I would strongly recommend against paying someone to increase your google rank. You can do anything they do. If they are overly aggressive Google can decide to ban your site for trying to game their system. Do what stathunter recommended and read up on Search Engine Optimization (SEO). The best way to increase your rank is have people link to you and get more traffic.
I'm far from an expert but it looks like your friend "wrapped" flash inside some HTML so you should be ok as far as search engines finding your site.

This is a bit tough as it's a complete flash site. Looks like your guy has used a batch of meta keywords (which Google ignores), and an attempt via a description on a spacer gif file, to put some text content into the file. The typical answer for flash is to wrap it in real html (Mike, I don't seen this wrapping you're talking about) such that much of the actual page text is generated in html, and not in flash. That way, the text can be used to incorporate key words and phrases.
The good news is that Google does index flash text now, but it's questionable how much it really can decypher correctly. But given you're unlikely to completely re-do the site, that may be what you're hoping for.
Here's a good read on SEO: http://www.search-marketing-answers.com/blog/white-hat-seo-fundamentals/

With flash sites all you can do is get high quality sites to link to your website with the text that you think people will search for - ie "portland wedding and portrait photographer". Or build an html companion site.
