for the pros that have been doing this for years now...what is your consistent method of saving your work? im sure there are people here who have lots of digital work from the past. after your work is done, where does it get stored? where do you put it all? how long do you save your work, especially client work?
thanks. just looking for feedback on what works for you.

started off with syquest, then DAT, then DVD, now it all gets dumped on raid array's which are then duplicated, with one raid kept off site.
it's fast, secure as it can get, portable and accessible... and too be honest, a 2tb raid is about £400, so considering that works out as a tb in mirror and we need 2 of those, it's about £ 800 per tb of duplicated on and off site fast backup...or 80 pence/gb. For that it means the data is on 4 different physical drives in 2 locations.
in the past 20 years i've had more DAT tapes fail than anything else, followed by CD/DVD's... a few drives, but only after about 5+ years 24/7 high speed work.

especially client work? I'd burn a DVD in addition to the below.
I backup to an internal & external drive. This makes it easy: free Karen's Replicator (http://www.karenware.com/powertools/ptreplicator.asp)
Automatically backup files, directories, even entire drives! Karen's Replicator copies selected files from one drive/folder to another. Source and Destination folders can reside anywhere on your network.
Options include repeated copies at intervals as short as a few minutes, or as long as several months, copy only files that have changed, and the replication of folder and file deletions.
New features allow you to specify which files should not be copied, and also which days a file should be skipped!
