Hi All,

This one was advertised in the UK publication, Amateur Photographer, this week.

ProFotoSoftware (http://www.profotosoftware.com/eos_raw.php)

There is a 30-day trial version online (13Mb download) and usual price is £22 (sterling).

I've had a quick look at the software and it does work and works quite well. I would say it isn't as fast as the PS CS Raw Converter for preview updates (I think) but actually "developing" is quite a bit faster.

You can also make your changes to a batch of images and then apply these changes and "develop"them directly to TIFFs/JPEGs etc. while you go and get a coffee.

Overall, the software isn't as slick as PS CS, but it does have some much nicer features. For example, if you are using 1D MKII, you can apply "Curves" during RAW conversion. Also appears to do linear conversions (but that option is disabled in the trial version).

Me ? I'm sticking to PS CS for all my stuff as I only develop a few shots at a time, but if you are in the game of batching images and are looking for a converter, I would say at least have a look before heading to BreezeSystems or C1 etc.

Cheers

Ian

You can batch-process raw conversions in PS CS, too.
