Please tell me my camera is NOT broken?

Ok, well, i JUST got my A40 a couple of days ago, i have been saving for a long time for it. Anyway, i just hvae a quick question. Sometimes, for seemingly no reason, after i take one shot or so in auto mode, i try to take another right away and nothing happens. So i wait a little while, and sometimes it works, sometimes it seems not to? Does anybody have this problem? Is it simply because the flash is on and it is taking a long time to recharge? Please help!?

U might have a defective CF card or a really slow one. Try the same thing with a Lexar CF cars or Sandisk Ultra or other high end CF card.

try taking a few pictures with the flash off to see if that is your problem.

Take it back as soon as you can. Assuming it is brand new and within the first year warranty then tell them it must be a Friday built lemon and demand a new replacement.

Personally, I would also ask for something extra for the inconvenience they had put me through such as a spare battery. If you don't ask you don't get.
