WOW. At first I thought the first shot was an orange or something, then I saw the face. What in the world is the last shot? That's a strange set of eyes for a dragon fly. And in the last spider shot, that's a great example of red eye. One red eye out of all the spider's eyes.

Ok here is the first of mine and probably my shot of the day, Both me and Alby had chances at one of these but they really didnt like the flash and kept jumping away. Luckily this one statyed still long enough to get three shots for a focus stack. I think its a Deerfly and the first time i have photographed one.

I think that turned out ok Alby a bit of fill flash would have sorted the shadows but as we know they wouldnt really tolerate it :-)

Thanks guys, was a little disapointing but a good time was had by all and hopefully next time more people will turn out. Here are a couple more shots.

Cute little hopper

Hiya All,

What a great day we all had, it was great to finally meet up & put at least three faces to names, glad you guys had a good time, mind you I did feel a bit of a lame duck as time wore on ;):lol:

If anyone gets the chance to go to Exbury its well worth it

For some reason I seem to have very few critter keepers, i know excuses excuses but I still can't get a good steady grip yet but hell it was a good day out which is a raretiy these days

I managed to get a few reasonably good shots of this Green Long Jawed Spider but I made a complete mess up of the Spinneret shot but I've stuck it up anyway, I'm not proud just still knackered :o:lol:

#1 is stitched from three shot is just a single #3 is a close-up #4 is anybody's guess :o:lol:

Cheers for now
Mark

Hiya Alby,

Likewise great to meet you also :D

A character eh, now that's a new one on me usually it's that weird bugger with the camera who lurks in the bushes:lol:
I've always had a reputation for being a tad differant, somebody's got to keep the old village character tradition going I guess ( village idiot comes to mind )

Loving all the shots & you've soon got the hang of that new toy !!

Judging by the weather forecast it looks like we got the day just right, couldn't have been better eh.

Had a PM from Bob earlier & he suggested another meet up possibly more my way to make things a bit easier traveling wise etc. but if we had another meet I thought somewhere near Bristol may not be a bad idea as that seems to be more central & accessible motorway wise ??

Well I'm just about to make up for a shortfall in the food department y'day, mmmm roast pork & all the trimmings & to hell with the cholesterol levels eh

Look forwards to us all meeting up once again

All the best
Cheers for now
Mark

Hiya Alistair,

Excellent shots, love the way the light effects the eyes, you're lucky it didn't take off, sneak round the back of you & bite you in the arse as they're tricky like that

Hope you've recovered from the journey now, that was a great day, well half a day in my case ;) & we were well lucky with the weather, it was absolutely chucking it down when I got withing 5 miles from home & Ami said it had been raining on & off all day.

All the best
Cheers for now
Mark

Great shots everyone. Jealous of the bugs, the shots, and not being able to meet up since I didn't get an opportunity earlier in the year.

Hiya Linda,

It was a great day but we coulda done with a fair damsel amongst us fellas, shame you couldn't come, next time maybe :D I tell you what I've never seen so many Dragons & Damsels just a shame I only got one Damsel keeper

The hand is coming on fine thanks to look at it you wouldn't notice anything now, just a bit limp wristed for a while, think I coulda done with a Golf Buggy though  I did wonder who outta Alby, Bob or Alistair could give me a Piggy Back, they know what I mean

Cheers for now
