I know the ULTRA II cards work decent in the REBEL with no problems, but will the EXTREME cards work better??? I see there access time is TWICE as fast as the ULTRA II but will the Rebel keep up with this? This is one thing I am lacking, I only have regular SANDISK cards, NO ultra II's.... ;( Its time to UPGRADE :) Just wondering if it is worth going with the EXTREME or not...

Definitely not worth the upgrade in my opinion. Less than a 5% speed improvement on the Digital Rebel. There is a big improvement in reader to PC speed, though. With a fast reader you can get 13MB/sec or better according to Rob Galbraith's tests, compared with a little over 10-11MB/sec for the Ultra II or Extreme I.

For the price, I won't be upgrading any time soon. Performance is too similar.

Thank you.... I'll stick with the Ultra II's then! :) Thanks!

I had heard that the extreme model can handle cold weather much better and will perform faster in those conditions. Not sure whether it is true and what the gain would be. I use extreme and love the download speed when using a USB 2.0 card reader.
