Hi all,

Never seen this before. When I went to open a bunch of CR2 files I shot today, they all have these red patches in them  If you click on Open File to close the CS3 RAW editor and open the file in plain CS3, the image appears fine and the red patches are gone. Nevertheless, these patches are a problem as I can't edit any of my files (interfere with my ability to edit it the image correctly obviously).

I tried closing out Photoshop and even rebooted my laptop but to no avail. I'm running Windows XP Pro 32bit.

Anyone has ever seen this before?

You've got the highlight clipping warning on. Hit "O" or click on the little triangle pointing up at the top right of the histogram.

You have the Highlight Clipping Warning turned on. Press the O key to turn it off.

EDIT:
Cross-posted with the previous poster. To fix the Highlight clipping you can hold down the ALT key and move the Recovery slider to the right until the warning disappears.
