I'm in need of all lighting materials to start practicing portraits. I plan on setting up a studio in my garage. Any thoughts on this one? Is it a good deal, and what else would I need, I know I'll need backdrops, but what else? I liked at some of the alien bees kits and I liked the lights but they don't seem to have a kit that has "everything" like this one does, like a snoot etc.

Bloo Dog has grace my thread with his precense! Thanks for chiming in man.
I'll do a search for some of those. And yes, I'm very, very set on starting portraiture. I'm order a 24-70L in a few daysto round out my bag, then a lighting kit - I want to get "everything" I need all at once, down to the last little piece. Then I want to start learning how to use it, and experimenting with people I know.
If you see a kit somewhere, please let me know. Otherwise I'll keep searching, for the brands you mentioned.
What do you think about alien bees? Their kits don't seem to come with much.
I'd really like a "complete list" of every single little piece I'll need to start learning. All I have right now is a camera and lenses, and a tripod.
