that dust hair at 4pm on the leaf appeared in every shot today so I must conclude the 40D sensor cleaner is a gimmick. It was easily removed this evening with the Rocket Blower so should have been shaken off by the 40D's technology.

disadvantage of Brian's beanpole method - they think its a tree and your hand is a leaf (phone shot):

of course but seldom have to as my sensor is normally spotless - absolutely no spots today after blow with Rocket last night.
Off to shoot Wimbledon Qualifying tournament now, see if Canon did a good job with the latest firmware on the MK3 - can't be too bad as I noticed when I was at Queens over the w/e all the pros were using the MK3 and grey lenses, 300 f2.8 and 70-200 f2.8

taken some annual leave Mon-Thurs to watch Wimbledon qualifying and visit Thursley common tomorrow. No new PC, now that the card reader is working so well I don't feel the need especially as i'm hankering after a flat screen TV-the new Panasonic range looks interesting but I am still to be convinced that LCD/Plasma is as good a picture as the old cathode ray tube
