Just got an a95 for Christmas and am entertaining the thought of getting a Lexar 1GB 80x (2nd Ed).

I thought I saw something somewhere where someone had a concern about the Canon not using the WA (write acceleration) feature of the Lexar 80x.

Can anyone shed any light on this?

I know the Sandisk Extreme III are really good, but much too expensive at this point.

WA technology has to be licensed from Lexar. Canon has not licensed it. SanDisk Ultra II are roughly comparable in performance to either of the other two types you mentioned (within about 10%)

So what I heard was true then. Canon cameras cannot take advantage of the WA technology in Lexar high performance memory.

I will look into SanDisk Ultra II memory then.

Thanks for the information.

I use the sandisk ultra II. It is excellent.
Look around on the internet. I got mine for $32.00 and
it is a 256 meg.

My wife has a Lexar 1GB 40x for her A95. Works just fine.
