Pickin' a little Bluegrass music

I shot this group at a private gig on Saturday evening.... Here's a few of my favorites... for this gig there happened to be two different groups playing together for the first time... Laid back gig for sure. :D

Mmm, I like bluegrass. There is nothing more fun then sitting around listening to people jamming. Mention bluegrass to most people west of the Mississippi and you get the blank stare.

I like the second one with the older gentleman and mandolin.

Of the folks in the red he is not the oldest member of that group.... He is next oldest... The oldest member of that group sadly suffered a heart attack (at 90 years old) and has been living in a nursing home for the past little while. "Ol' Johnny" (in the picture above) has a keen sense of humor! He laughed as I was taking shots of the other players and said "Didn't you know it was age before beauty, I'm the oldest one here, you should be takin' my picture!" :D

I grew up around bluegrass music and had a lot of fun shooting this gig.

I like one and two alot. Four and five are over vignetted (I like vignetting, I just think you went a little too far.) On the other hand one and two could use a little vignetting. All that said, I think you captured the soul of a soulful group. Good work.

i was going to say the same thing. the desaturation works really well for this photo. i would like to see it just a hair wider though.

I like Bluegrass. I've shot Rhonda Vincent and The Rage a couple of times. I like the sharing of one microphone and the constant shuffling of positions to access it, along with the music, of course! :-)
