Please chime in with your opinions... I'll be purchasing a kit of some kind soon. It's my understanding that studio flash is the way to go(?) Thanks

OK, more questions:
What do you want lighting for, i.e. what are you planning on shooting ?
Is that all you are planning on shooting or will there be other subjects ?
Cheers

For people Studio lighting is best, for products use continuous. Studio strobes is alot more comfortable for your customers.

Sorry for the dumb question, but what is the difference between flashes and strobes. Another really dumb question, are Alien Bees lights continuous or flashes
Thanks

Alien Bees is Strobes, I have a pair and Flashes is mostly considered camera mount lighting
Continous lighting stays the same until you cahnge the power level.

I just bought 4 continious lighting lamps (alumium reflectors) with 250wX4 and they did a great job (albeit a littttle yellowish but ever so little). I am trying to decide if I want to jump into a soft box and umbrella and use my 580 EX with stofen diffuser. I need someone who has done both to tell me if the flash will "look" better than the continuious floods. Any body?
