When I was living with my ex, we had DirecTV and the only time I can remember losing the signal was when we lost power. Back home in Louisiana I had it and only lost signal during bad storms. Not sure how it would be for you. I guess each experience is different.

ANd it does take practice and honestly a new lens will really make a TON of difference. I hate to admit that...Some of the stuff we did today, that butterfly place was hard shooting, I'm not sure many of mine will make that cut either...

ahh cool.. I got motion blur on quite a few pictures.. Others the focus was off.. I have my auto-focus set for center focus and I recompose after the focus and finish depressing the shutter. The ones that I did a few touches on in CS3 are going to be uploaded to my server here in a bit.. I'll link you to them when I get them up. I only ended up with 1 from the Butterfly House that made the cut.. Should have taken in the 55-250 instead of the kit lens.... But hey.. I'm a noob.. We all gotta start somewhere right? :) I did most of my shooting in aperture priority. I also didn't realize that I hadn't changed my ISO from when I was last shooting in the van on vacation and it was at 1600 almost the whole time.. :(

What a weekend :) As I told Lisa, Eads bridge is closed for some reason and I searched for a while on th Illinois side for somewhere to get a good picture and you just can't. So, I left for home around 730pm and arrived around 10. Then Sunday was off to another esession that I am busy processing and now real life has set in!

I sure enjoyed meeting everyone on Saturday, it was a lot of fun. I'll post some pics later today when I've had a chance to look at them! :D

I'm seriously peeved right now! Thursday last week I bought a Sunpak CPL from BestBuy in desperation as my Hoya one had been stepped on by one of my kids. I shot with it all day Saturday on my 70-200, chimping every now and then and everything looked great. Well, when I looked at the pictures, less than a quarter of them are actually any good! There is a lot of fuzziness in the images and the majority of them are OOF.

I did some testing last night and low and behold, the CPL is at fault. There is a slight aberation in the center of the filter causing everything in the center of the frame to be OOF. What a waste! I do have some that I'll post here shortly, but no where near what I thought I had!! Sigh.

I have to tell you, read my blog tonight....It's hilarious how they do things in Troy. Parents were all over the lawn sitting down, on curbs, standing it was SO funny. So NOT city! I took a picture it just made me chuckle..

Oh and we got pulled over and I am VERY sure we were targeted because of the OHIO plates, and we were lost and finally my husband went down a road and did not use his signal and she FINALLY pulled us over, she asks us "are you lost" and we are like YES, actually we are. She was very nice and got a map and showed us where we were supposed to be. Told my son "good Luck"

but still we knew we were followed because of the plate.

They meet at either the Brentwood Library on Seminole St, or down at the Library Center just south of Rt 60 on Campbell depending on which thursday of the month it is. Tonights meeting, I believe, is at Brentwood.

Its a VERY active club with lots of various speakers, competitions, working with other groups, field trips, etc. and at $20 per year membership you simply cannot beat the price!!!

My other son was there and right after that Ami took the bottle off the goat and almost got it to his mouth....everyone was screaming Noooooo... He got it on video but someone (jim) removed memory card and he could not store it.
