A reminder that there's more to do while waiting for the loo than stare at the silent movie.

Near Fairbanks, Alaska, proving it is possible to shoot through two layers of Plexiglas and still come up with something...

its terrific don
great shot
beautiful cloud formation

I love the clouds
and especially looking at them like this

to see all that scene spread out down below them
not easy from a craft and through the 'glass'
sometimes hard to do
with the light reflecting from the side of, or from the plane itself when up that height
and so near the sun
(well you know what I mean : )

being able to show it here this size, is half the battle also (nearly all the battle, as I think a lot of the ..ummp of shots has been lost when put into small slots on certain url's
Its great

Neat shot Don. And through glass, even better.

Don,

Nice shot! The first time I took my D30 in a 747 - London to Vancouver - I took some shots out of the window. I was amazed at how well they came out.

What I want to know is, why were you taking your camera to the loo? :)

Regards,

It's not often we find you asking such obvious questions...

And, no, those aren't my paper towels on the floor.

Cheers,

But we all know what they're soaked in, don't we? :D

There's such a thing as being too dedicated to your art. :D

Nice shot, Don!

I am a lover of snow and mountains, so I found the view real great. And about the "loo-picture".... I can understand that. If you are a serious photographer you bring your camera everywhere, even in to the loo. You never know what might show up in there. :)

I had to register when I saw this picture. I really thought it was beautiful. I have taken a few pictures from the windows of airliners, but this is awesome. Great job!

I am an ameteur photographer who (previously) owned an old manual camera and I learned a whole lot about taking pictures with it, until my friend lost it a weekend ago, on a hiking trip.

Last resort, another buddy had a disposable camera; the sunset at 7000 feet with a blanket of clouds below is breathtaking, I hope the disposable camera did justice...

Well, great picture again Don, and maybe someday I'll be posting pictures here.

ps. How's the rebel lineup for an ameteur? Seems everyone's got em...

First of all, I want to thank everyone -- Marie, Sheila, Roger, Anders, Jim and Matthew -- for your comments. I don't know why, really, but I was a little surprised to find that so many people enjoyed this shot.

Here's a hint: friends replace things they lose.

As for the Rebel, I don't know anything about it. Sorry.

Thanks very much for your comments. I'm glad you liked the shot.

Unless it had tons of sentimental value, you ought to cheer up then... you get a new camera and you even get to change models or brands. It's the ultimate trade-in and you've found out he really is a friend. :)
