I tried really hard to get to the track before the sun went down,,,I got pretty close..

I really like this shot.
Can you share what lighting you were using.
I really want to shoot some pics like this. Today I bought a 430ex to work as a slave to my 580ex, hopefully it will be enough light for mx and atv action shots. I would have really liked to have got some quantum strobes but cant afford them at the moment.

I didn't really do that much with the light,,,I just used my 430 and had the settings below,,,and this was shot with my 18-55, but I was about three feet away from him. That is the only way this shot will work...Thanks for the comments!:)

Sorry... I just saw this.

No, I wasn't joking. I like the overall composition and colors of the shot. But, the fact that he's hamming and gawking back at you (to my mind) turns it in to a snap shot. I'm also a bit distracted by the frozen look the flash has given everything... but the rider's face blows it for me.

Just an opinion, mind you, I could be wrong. ;)

I agree if the rider didn't look at the cam, the story would have been different. But the shot is nice and well done. The back ground looks cool too. We will hope to see more of your shots.
