When I use the AUTO setting on my S30, it automatically assumes that I want to take stitched photos and acts like it is in the stitched photo mode. Is it possible to change this setting when the camera is in AUTO mode? Maybe I inadvertantly changed it to work that way. Either way, I want to change it back, but don't know how. Any ideas?

Is the dial broken? When you're in auto mode, does the preview on the lcd take up the whole screen (does the screen look the same as it does in photostitch mode)?

Stitch and Auto are two different settings on the S30. Sounds like something is wrong with the dial. Does it give you the symbol for stitch when it is set on auto, and visa versa?

When in Auto, the screen looks like it would in the photostitch mode. I think there may be a problem with the dial as I also noticed that when I switch the dial to AV, it comes up in the screen as AUTO. I also noticed that the MOVIE mode is setting up the same way, with the photoswitch mode activated. Very strange.

I'm pretty sure you have a problem with your dial, you should return the defective model ASAP. Good luck!

Hohoho, your s30 is not working correctly. Bring it back to service center. I exprerienced the same problem with my s30 when its auto mode really goes auto switch to stitch mode. Brought to service centre, repaired, and no problem so far.
