Fireworks Question

Ok, this will be the first time I'll be shooting fireworks with the new PRO1.

What is the best mode to shoot in?

I'm guessing Av / Tv or M.... But I'm not sure of which or why.

Also, what would be the best ISO mode: 50,100,200 or 400

And lastly, what would be a good aperature ? I think I can do 2.x to 8.0.....

Use whichever mode will allow a long exposure of 2-6 seconds. Manually focus on infinity.

Use a very stable tripod.

I was also thinking about taking continuous shots for about 10 seconds.

Last summer I found that ISO 100, F-16, Shutter "B" about 1-4 sec. worked well. I opened the shutter when I heard one fire & held it 'till the end of the burst.

I was also thinking about taking continuous shots for about 10 seconds. Try ISO 100, f/8 or f/11, and expose for the duration of the fireworks burst or bursts. Like Bob said - bring a tripod and a zoom that covers wide angle if you're up close.

Ya people ain't reading. I can't do above F8.0 ;) I'm using a PRO1. I also don't have a bulb function. Thus I have to select the exposure, press the button let go and she stops at the selected time.

From what the Canon book is saying. It's recomending M mode. I am now leaning towards M and Tv. Which would be the wiser choice?

As it stands per suggestions: I'm shooting Iso-100 and F8 which is only in Manual.

Iso-50 and F8 is the same as ISO 100 at F11. You could get the equivalent of ISO 100 @ F-16 by adding a polarizer or ND filter.

Yeah, I know little yet. I'm still waiting on the books to arrive. I'll try Iso-50 and F8 and see how that does.
