Max speed on CF cards

I was wondering if there is a limit that a 40d can read/write to a CF card?
I am looking at the Ducati 8GB 45mb/sec but if it gives me no more advantage over the Extreme III 20mb/sec. Then I will not spend the money.
Any help will be much appreciated.

Canon data i/o for CF cards is limited (compared to Nikon) and gets only very marginal improvements, making the cost-benefit ratio for anything above Extreme III to be questionable investments. Galbraith data illustrates that. Nikons get far more bang for the buck on faster CF memory!
