Hi all-
I've been offered a job to photograph and video a doctor's office so they can put pictures and the video up on their website. Basically it will only be 2-4 pictures of the main lobby and various other rooms in the office, and a walk through "virtual tour" video. This is my first job for a business and I'm not sure about what to do as far as terms and conditions, invoices and the like. Can anyone help me out? I've already read the stickies on this forum...

I thought about just typing up an agreement in MS Word to outline what is expected of me and them along with payment conditions and we both sign it. Would that work?
Thanks.

Yes get the agreement ahead of time. You do realize in order to get 2-4 photos that will work for them you will probably have to take 100 or more......right?
I would charge them for 30 min shoot and 30 min editing minimum. You will have to have equipment that will do that job also--- while angle-- low light -- proper lighting etc.

I didn't realize I'd have to take that many. The widest angle lens I have at the moment is my Sigma 17-70mm lens. I don't think that will be wide enough. I have a friend that said he'll let me borrow his Canon 10-22mm, but I hate to ask him. I'm thinking about giving a cut of my earnings for his willingness to let me borrow the lens.

Anyway, this gig was focused more on the video "virtual tour" at first (which I am more comfortable with because I have much more experience with video), then the guy learned I purchased a digital SLR. So now he wants me to take some pictures too. I talked to my sister-in-law who works at the office, she said the area is very well lit and one room is rather large, the other 2 rooms are a little smaller.

You would definitely need the 10mm end to do a good job of it. Grab the Canon 10-20mm, if you're worried about breaking your friend's lens, you can always rent one closeby to your place. I'm sure there are places nearby which offer great lens rates.
