I placed my phone order two days ago, and received the White Lightning package today. The package consists of 2 X1600 (key and fill with octobox) and 2 X800 lights (background and hair with honeycomb). The set up was very easy; my home studio was up and ready in under an hour!

The lights look very sturdy and have plenty of power for group shots and portraits. In my first test run, I was able to use f11 @ 125 at about 1/3 of the main flash power. I am very impressed with the preliminary results (10D with 50mm/f1.4). The model lights deliver enough power to observe shadows...

Prior, I used to have Photoflash continuous light, but chose the strobe because Photoflex gets hot really quickly.

Next stop: 20D!

Yalemba,

See this post: http://photography-on-the.net/forum/showthread.php?t=51054

Tells you all you need to know for posting images you already have on web space. If you don't have that, it also tells you how to upload and host them on this site as attachments.

Cheers

Ian

I have had White Lightning since they first started making lights. They are fantastic and you will never have to buy another set.....you can't wear them out!!!

Please pardon my EDIT (in bold).

Prior, I used to have Photoflash continuous light, but chose the strobe because continuous lighting gets hot really quickly. Though Photoflex does have their own hot lights, most of their lighting accessories as with other Mfgr equipment is configurable for either continuous or strobe lighting.

Congrats on the new toys! Would love to see some of your work and pics of your setup.

I've been stalking lighting equipment for some time and just haven't made the plunge yet. My wish list currently includes AB strobes and Photoflex accessories.
