Need help. The focus is completely blurred in LCD Monitor. I see the vertical lines running through, pink and white lines. And as I move the camera around the lines change but the view is blurred. The photos I take with the LCD monitor on or off does not matter. Either way it is the blurred photo only. However, in playback mode I can view the pictures clearly. I am thinking it could be some settings that were changed. I have searched in the forum but I was not able to get any help.
My son was using it for a while when this happened. I am kind of stuck at this point. Any help is much appreciated.

What shooting modes does this happen in?

Normally I keep it on Auto, but there is no difference in any of the modes. It is the same output.

"However, in playback mode I can view the pictures clearly." Even pictures taken since you started seeing the blurred LCD? This sounds like the issue described in the sticky (http://photography-on-the.net/forum/showthread.php?t=238911) at the top of this forum if you're only referring to older photos displaying clearly.

This is the same problem as mentioned in the link, i.e., CCD image sensor issue. Canon people say they will repair it free of cost. That's really a great relief. I am going to call them tonight. Many many thanks for the information.

I have got the camera back completely repaired by Canon and free of charge. Camera is back to normal mode, and thank you Jon, for letting me know about the free rpair.
