Is anyone having a problem seeing .CR2 files from the XSi/450D in Photoshop Elements 5.0 Organizer? I can open them okay in PSE Editor with the Adobe Camera Raw 4.4.1 update but Organizer will not include them. I'm getting a message that the file is corrupted or of an invalid format. Any solution?

I'm not 100% sure, but it sounds like the software doesn't support your camera. Because the 450D is so new, there will be some software out there that will not immediately workt with the 450D raw files. You may have to upgrade to 6.x or use an alternative program that has been updated for the 450D.

Thanks. I did consider that but Adobe has released Camera Raw 4.4.1 which I've installed that includes the XSi/450D. But only the Editor was fixed by that update not the Organizer. At least that was my experience which prompted this discussion.

Don...
Okay. Please bear in mind that I am a total newbie to PSE6 and the 450D, but I have both and am just beginning the learning curve for the two of them.

But for what it is worth, PSE6 exhibits the same problem with opening CR2 files in Organizer that you are reporting with PSE5. And yes, I just loaded the 4.4.1 update being careful to do so as described in Adobe's instructions. As you report with PSE5, I can open CR2 files in the Editor but the Organizer balks at anything to do with CR2 files. So I have no solution to offer to you but at least I can confirm that upgrading to PSE6 will do nothing towards solving the problem.

Thanks James for the input. I contacted Adobe support but they told me that my support time period has expired so would not address the issue. Maybe you or someone who still has support for PSE could pose the question and see if they have a solution or if this is a new behavior that they still need to fix.
