Hey.

Well for the first time i saw a praying mantis in the yard, and my dog was about to eat it!

I captured it in a plastic container, i want to keep it for a few hours to take a few macro shots.

Whats the best way of keeping them still for a photo?

What care should i take in handling them?

Thanks!

Very nice shots. I think you would need a wire cage to keep it in, cause they can fly.

nice shots, i keep mine in a net 1x1x1 cage. to keep them still get a stick with no leaves, put him on it. most of the time they will just sit there if they like the spot and your not messing with them much.
