What sort of effect do you have on the second one.
It almost looks like a combo of colour and monochrome.

Yes, the 2nd one is a combo of Sepia (PS action), and color.
Just made the Sepia layer a little transparent. I think ~ 60%.

At about the 6-8 month age when she starts showing signs of grasping and holding get the camera ready and give her a big wad of Scotch tape, sticky side out. Get ready for some great facial expressions. You have to be quick as kids get frustrated.
