Greetings,

I lost/misplaced my user Manual for the Canon 550EX Speedlite external flash (that I use with my Canon EOS D60 SLR.

Is there any way I can obtain a copy of this ... even download a .pdf file of same? I tried the Canon website but didn't get anywhere.

Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated. Many thanks.

thanks a lot RFM

Greetings,

I see you were able to retrieve and open this file. How did you do it, please? And is it the entire 550EX User Manual?

Many thanks.

P S - What is a .pf file BTW? ... something akin to Adobe's .pdf file?

My thanks too, RFM.

Shamrock, it is a self-extracting ZIP file that contains the .pdf of the full manual. Are you on a PC? Save the file to your local machine and double-click on it.

http://www3.canon.de/pro/bda/fot/bli/Holy crap man, I think I looked for this manual for about a month and wasn't able to find it. (that was before I bought mine, now I have 2 of them). I'm not exactly "search savvy" though.

Hi, RFM ...

AARRGGHH!! OK, had to get that out of my system ...

I tried opening your file using Adobe Acrobat 6.0 and got the following message:
"Adobe Reader could not open "SPEEDLITE_550-EX_ENG[1].EXE-2D63F909.pf"
because it is either not a supported file or because the file has been corrupted
(for example), it was sent as a mail attachment and wasn't correctly decoded."

??? Where have I gone wrong ... since a fellow respondent apparently had no problem retrieving/accessing this file?

Many thanks.

You have something goofy going on. I just downloaded it and it produced a perfect PDF file that will surpass the output from a jpg by a longshot.

Scott ...

Thanks for the lead. Too bad it's a series of 59 separate .jpg's but it's far better than nuttin' !

I just tried Jeff's suggestion and this it worked like a charm.

Thanks.

Great! Better than dealing with a pile of JPEGs for sure. My last resort, if you had not been able to figure it out, was to email it to you.

As an aside I went back and checked the files and they worked fine. Depends on how you have your unzipper setup...

Here is a site that has all kinds of manuals and parts lists for many different brands. The 550 is there about half way down as are several of the cameras, old and new and many lenses. http://home19.inet.tele.dk/ne/manualer.htm
