I picked up a a Hakuba hand strap for my camera and a 1 Gig 80x Lexar CF card. I needed more storage, although I have my ibm microdrive, and a 256. I needed a bit more storage.

Here are some images. I really like this hand strap.

I guess there's no chance of losing that baby at Time Square on New Year's Eve, huh? BTW, what are you going to do if you need to scratch your right ear?

Does that strap allow you to add the battery grip to the camera? I have one on my Drebel and I couldn't imagine shooting without it now.

Now all you need is just tape your left hand to the zoom ring, and you're done :D ;):p HEHE Kidding :)

Thanks for posting. I've been looking at getting that exact setup for a while now.

hehe, glad you guys like the set up.
I have a 70-200 also, so this wrist strap with the zoom and the 550 flash on the camera, helps to give me the peace of mind of knowing that this camera is not leaving my arm.. hehe...

I didn't go down to Time Square last night, it was just to busy. Maybe next year we will plan something like that. I would have to go with my crew though.. Make it a team effort.

BTW: HAPPY NEW YEAR.

I don't see why you wouldn't be able to use it with a battery grip. I will see if it fits on my eos ellanIIe with the battery Grip. and post an image.

I really like it. I have to do some photo's in a friends nightclub on the 8th and I needed something to keep the camera in my hand securely.

Looks like something that came out of a B&D Dungeon...

Certainly a better set up than the Canon strap..

I can't even imagine out how all that is useful, seems a little cumbersome in my opinion.

Have you ever taken photo's in a crowd and the kneckstrap was a bit in your way?
If you hold your camera in the air and someone bumps you or your hand, Can you imagine your 2000 dollar investment going crashing to the ground.
I don't want that to happen.

It cost me 24 dollars, and I just adjusted it to my arms fitting. It is actually pretty comfortable and doesn't bother me.

I have the other model of this, the one with just the handstrap, but not velcro wrist closure.

Ordered it through BH after following an earlier thread started by someone who cobbled up a home brew version. I had thought about buying the battery/grip just to get the handstrap function; this was way cheaper and was exactly what I wanted.

Very useful, I can see the benefit of having the extra security of the wrist wrap in a crowded, jostling enviroment.

Either are a great, inexpensive addition to the camera and well worth the money.

I agree. I think anything that can keep your equipment safe, secure and in your hands is worth the money.

That hand strap would match my gimp mask perfectly!

J/K That thing is one serious piece of equipment. Great for photographers of roller coasters and/or roaring rapids!

I agree, but i am just ordering the regular canon wriststrap. Seem slike it would do the job just fine. The wrist strap/base plate thing just looks inconvenient to me. I guess I can se it being useful on rollercoasters like someone said, or in acrobatic aircraft etc.

I have the canon handstrap and find it just as effective, less cumbersome, and quite a bit more comfortable. I originally bought a hakuba strap like the canon and continue to use the plastic base to secure it.

They tried to sell me the one pictured here in this post, but I found it quite uncomfortable. One thing that seems to be just not right, is that if you keep it snug around your hand, which is how it is supposed to be, it keeps your thumb pushed over the back of the camera past the four way controller and the dial. It requires contortion-like manuever of the thumb to operate the rear controls comfortably.

Seems like a very usefull item for taking shots in sketchy touristy places where someone might just try and grab it and also , suspention bridges or penthouse balconys. Happy Newyear
