I have a friend who knits. She knows I have a camera, and that I love taking pictures of everything, and she had asked if I would mind taking shots of her knitting projects that she can post on the web forums she belongs to.
We started joking about it, and we haven't agreed that I'm going to do this for her, but it started making me think about how come up with frames, and composition and such.
Now I don't have any cool gear like light boxes and what not, so it would most likely be either indoor lighting, or outdoor if it's bright enough.
She does things from hats, to shawls, to whatever she thinks would be a good project. I tried searching the forum, but couldn't find anything about photographing knitting projects (maybe I was using the wrong search terms), and tried google, but it was as helpful as a sharp stick.
We chatted briefly about either taking shots of just the item, or having her model it. I was curious if anyone out here had done anything similar, and if they had any words of advice, or could share any gotchas to watch out for.
Thanks!
