I had a shooting adventure the other day with my S1 IS, let me know what you think.

The farm picture seems ideal to me - nicely framed on one side by the tree; also the white fence is nicely placed. It looks very inviting! The picture of the pond is beautiful. I can't imagine improving on it.

The sunset picture has a couple of problems in my opinion: 1) the horizon is not level; 2) the horizon is curved due to lens distortion. Editing software can correct both of these problems. I also am a bit confused by the colors in the sunset photo - it may be just me but somehow the colors seem strange.

Thanks for the comments. I wanted to level it but then I would loose too much of the red reflections on the ground. Can anyone suggest a plugin to fix the distortion? And yes, the colors were just that strange.

#3 is actually a puddle not a pond, hadnt looked at it that way but then again I was there. I think I should have gotten lower and got more of the reflections, I think its cut a little too short at the bottom.

#2 is my fav. Got a pretty good 5x7, think the water tower in the background should go?

Thankyou, my thoughts exactly. I'm constantly amazed at what beautiful images this camera can make. At first I was hesitant as I really wanted the digital rebel, but not having that much money to spend I got the PowerShot S1 IS and I've just got to say that what you see on the LCD is not nearly as vibrant as what you get on the PC. That the the IS really really does work. I think the second one might become a 8x10 if I dont shoot anything better in the next week.
