Hey, folks.
Just got back from vacation to Seattle and a day trip up to DC (who knew Penn Camera was so hard to find?) During the course of both trips, I filled my shiny new 1 GB SanDisk Ultra II CF card to capacity about 5 or 6 times (shooting in RAW, of course). I normally use a SanDisk PC card slot adapter to plug the card directly into my PowerBook to transfer files.
However, I've noticed it takes an incredibly long time to move 1 GB of data through that connection, something on the order of 10 minutes. I haven't tried using the USB cable to move the photos off the card, mainly because I don't like having to use a software interface, and OS X doesn't want to recognize the camera as a mounted drive as it does with the CF card, so I don't know how the transfer rates compare.
Is 100 mb/min a normal transfer rate, do I have a defective card adapter, defective card, or defective logic board?
