I really don't want the administrators to move this because i'm asking about this flash for macro use only.
Okay, so I just picked this sucker up the other day and have absolutely no clue what I'm supposed to do with it. Idk really know where to start really. But what are the normal settings i guess i should ask for normal insect macro taking purposes?
ANY help at all would be fantastic on this subject.
(sorry I'm being so broad)

With your 60mm, a good place to start is to put the camera on manual, f/11 and 1/200 (or 1/250, I use 1/200 to save a bit of flash power) shutter speed, and set the flash on E-TTL. That's sort of like an automatic mode for the flash, but is quite good, and once you get used to it you can start dialing in some flash compensation as you see fit, depending on the type of shot.
I'm willing to bet that most of the shots you see here are done with the flash on E-TTL.

I only have the 24-70 L but have used it for "macro" work. However only outside with plenty of light. Today I just got in the mail (thanks to DWFotos) an off shoe cord 2. This will allow you to tripod mount the camera (a must for serious macro work) and wither hand hold the flash or mount that as well and still retain E-TTL functions. Havent really had time to play with it and have a charity bike ride tomorrow worth 50 miles so playing tonight not really an option. I will post some when I can. I'm sure some more experienced members here have a similar setup that could be a little more help.
